ABOUT REACT

React allows individuals from different communities and language backgrounds to rapidly respond to a drug poisoning with guidance and resources that are suitable to their needs. React includes a built-in 9-1-1 calling feature, instructions on how to identify a suspected overdose, and steps to administer naloxone and perform emergency first aid response. It also provides information on services and programs available in the community. React allows everyone to access linguistic and culturally relevant resources to offset the dangers of an overdose.

She has collaborated with organizations such as the Vancouver Canucks to make art for their very first Diwali jerseys which gained international attention and has had numerous public artworks on display throughout Metro-Vancouver that honour her heritage. Her artworks have been acquired by the Museum of Vancouver for their permanent collection. Through art, she has found her voice and a new appreciation for her culture and identity.

“I created the artwork of a butterfly to help bring a bit of delicateness to an otherwise daunting crisis that the community is facing. The butterfly symbolizes a guardian looking over those in need (representing the perspective of the app user who will be accessing the resources).”
